Inspirational Speaker John Bird MBE

How Comfortable Do You Feel? We took off our shoes to feel what it was like to walk with no shoes. This made us very grateful that we have shoes and comfortable homes. Walking with no shoes is uncomfortable, because the floor is cold and you may step on dangerous items.

Getting into Trouble John Bird taught us how bad it was to have a criminal record and how it will affect the rest of your life. Stealing from shops will get you into trouble. At the age of 12 police caught John Bird stealing food.

Family Values John Bird’s parents did not look after him, because they spent money on alcohol and cigarettes. So he started to shoplift for food and money. He was taken to a prison for young boys for 7 years.

The Big Issue The Big Issue was made by John Bird and Mr. Roddick in which homeless people buy each magazine for £1 and sell it for £2.

Questions & Answers Children asked questions about John Bird’s childhood. He said he ran away from school when he was 10. John Bird told us that the police taught him to read and write . There are over 4000 homeless people on the streets of London. Please help them!
