Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.
What is righteousness? -A legal term -“The quality of being morally correct and justifiable.” - simple terms “Right living” a person’s actions are justifiable.
Who’s life is more righteous – justifiable?
The truth is: “for All have sinned and fall short of the glory of god The truth is: “for All have sinned and fall short of the glory of god.” romans 3:23
The complete truth is: “But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known, to which the Law and prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference for All have sinned and fall short of the glory of god” romans 3:21-23
“Abram believed the lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness “Abram believed the lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” genesis 15:6
-Self righteousness -God’s righteousness -Christian Righteousness Well, self-righteousness is better than no righteousness at all, isn’t it?
Self righteousness leads to 1. pride/judgment or 2 Self righteousness leads to 1. pride/judgment or 2. shame/guilt god’s righteousness leads to 1. humility/faith and 2. freedom/love
“Let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8
Therefore, put on God’s breastplate of righteousness and live!!
