The Past and Present of the State of Texas Texas History The Past and Present of the State of Texas

Objectives Students will learn the early history of the State of Texas dating back to early European colonization dating back to 1519 Students will take a look at the six flags that have flown over Texas and the nations they represented throughout its history. Students look at how today’s events are shaping the future of Texas.

Geography of Texas Students will be required to know the different climates of Texas. Students will be given a test over the major cities of Texas.

Government of Texas Students will be instructed on the government and legislation of past and present Texas.

Class Project Pick one historical figure from Texas History and present the class with a presentation. Presentation should include a visual and be at least five minutes long.
