Engage- The Game Twenty We were taught to always start a lesson by engaging the students by letting them explore. Let's try this today!

Questioning Strategies Ask questions to lead them to finding patterns and making sense of the numbers. What number didn't you want to get?  Why? Talk and share your ideas. Play again and see how your strategy has changed. Discuss.

Standards for Mathematical Practice 1.  Model with mathematics. 2.  Use appropriate tools strategically. 3.  Attend to precision. 4.  Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning. 5.  Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. 6.  Reason abstractly and quantitatively. 7.  Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. 8.  Look for and make use of structure.

Model with Mathematics

Use appropriate tools strategically Compare the fractions 5/6 to 6/8 using the tools in front of you.

Attend to precision

Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning
