Author’s Craft
Finding your own Symbols As you read your novel you must be inferring and considering what the author has done on purpose. It might be… An item that the characters possess A color that the author uses A character in and of themselves (Frankenstein’s monster) An animal Can ideas in your novel be represented by a NOUN (person, place, thing)?
Symbolizes: fear, death, misunderstanding, selfishness, scientific curiosity. Frankenstein is a character in the novel, but he grows to symbolize even more than he is.
