Installation Process Installation Binders Work Orders

Installation Binder Purpose: The purpose with Installation Binders is to collect and structure all necessary and relevant information regarding an installation work. This will make it easy for everyone involved in installation, to prepare documents, file what’s expected (prerequisites, guides, templates etc) and to find and use the information.

Input from Design / Manufacturer Preparation of Installation Binder Check by: Discipline Lead Engineer QC Engineer IRR

Preparation of Installation Documentation Input from Design Preparation of Installation Binder IRR Reviewed by: Discipline Lead Engineer QC Engineer

Preparation of Installation Documentation Pre Job Briefing Perform Installation Test & Inspection Installation Certificate of Compliance

Purpose IRR The purpose with Installation Readiness Review is to review if the necessary preparations have been performed and the supporting documentation are in place for the upcoming installation package. An installation package is manageable discreet piece of the complete installation (size of package depending on many factors). IRR

Scope of an Installation Package & IRR The scope of an installation package might vary a lot, from small minor works to months of complex, large team installation. Small – Not all sections in binder relevant, few participants in an IRR etc Large – Complex documentation (including quality plan), many stakeholders at an IRR etc.

Timing of an IRR Typically about 1 month before the installation starts To early, preparations and documentation not in place To late, potential issues can not be addressed in time

Who participates at an IRR? Typical candidates to participate Work package manager Inkind lead Lead engineer Installation package leader (system lead) Contractor Supervisor Installation coordinator SEC coordinator Area coordinator Project ES&H Project QA Survey and alignment Subject matter experts (rigging, electrical, etc)

Mandates and responsibilities at the IRR Generally Installation Package Lead: That an IRR are performed Installation Coordinator (or delegate): Go/NoGo for installation Project QA: Approved the quality plan

Outcomes of an IRR Examples of outcomes Good shape – Proceed Minor things to fix before start – Keep start date Major things to fix before start – Reschedule installation Part of package not ready– Split package

How is an IRR documented Checklist with comments saved (linked/attached to IRR web page)

Checklist for an IRR - toplevel Has the issue/rest list from the CDR been addressed? Are the Installation Binder complete and the content checked? Will the material for this installation be available in time? Will the resources needed for this installation be available? Is the site ready for this installation? Checklist for IRR available

What is a work order? A work order is an internal document extensively used by projects-based, manufacturing, building and fabrication businesses. A work order may be for products and/or services. A Work order will be used to signal the start of an installation process and will be linked to a method statement (RAMS) or an installation binder. The work order will mainly state: Installation activity start and end time. Summary of the activity. Documents related to this activity.

Registering WOs

Checking Work Order Status

Why do a work order need to be approved? An approver of a work order need to verify the following before approving a work order: Installation/safety supporting documents are in place and up to date. Permits are in place and up to date and standards. Time frame is available and parallel work does not pose any risks. Spatial integration requirements are met. Other departments and areas coordinators are in Sync with the work order. On site resources are available

Work Orders – Overview -3M -1d Approved& Scheduled Preliminary Ongoing Closed Registering the work Installation Coordinator + Others Starting the work Installation Coordinator after coordinating with Area coordinator Based on coordination Approving the work Installation Coordinator (ONLY) Based on schedule coordination & maturity (documentation status, availability of material etc) Closing the work Installation Coordinator after coordinating with QC
