Daily Planner (information about HW/tests/quizzes is always on my HW page- Weber MS faculty pages) Encourage them to fill it in at the beginning of each class AND to reference it at home!! School issued a planner to each student

Point Log Sheet (information about all assignments/tests is always on my HW page- Weber MS faculty pages) They have a copy in their binder Running list of all assignments and what they are worth I reference it often AND collect it at the end of the quarter ALSO….grades are entered electronically in ASPEN and are public for parent and child.

Grading (information about tests/quizzes is always on my HW page- Weber MS faculty pages) Tests and quizzes 65% of grade Homework 20% of grade Labs 15% of grade

Tests and quizzes (65%) (information about tests/quizzes is always on my HW page- Weber MS faculty pages) 2 big tests/2 quizzes a Quarter I will always give a WEEKEND before test to study I will always give out review sheets before test & teach study skills. Departmentalized midterm and final

Additional part of quizzes Vocabulary Quiz Notebook Check Monthly quizzes Each Friday will have them copy words for the week -First week-EXAMPLES: pessimistic, optimistic, derive, component, valid Notes quiz given each quarter to ensure that students are keeping binder organized

HW (20%) HW 2 or 3 times a week Therefore…….no late assignments are accepted. On my HW web page Copies of handouts too Also on the board every day!! Follow me on instagram for photos *ALL HW is checked AND graded *students reminded to enter HW grade on their point log sheet when return it after grading

Labs (15%) 1 lab per week on average several days given to complete lab portion and a few days to answer questions at home. They have assigned lab groups…...will change lab groups each quarter.

Class Notes and Handouts Copies of my notes are in the binder in my class room Copies of all handouts in back of room-sign says extra copies If needed, I can share my notes, etc in google drive; email me

Extra help I welcome and encourage students to come during lunch and/or recess to ask questions-preferably not Friday Every Tuesday after school If I see a problem, I may invite them to extra help Have child email me if they want to make a scheduled time

Partnership Balance parenting and child’s need for independence. They still need you!! Call guidance 767 5545 for PTC Be careful of APR (if child has an Alternate Perception of Reality) Stay on top but not too much When in doubt, check it out. Call or email even if small issue/question. If mad---don’t email

email me WHENVER you want.. Please do not hesitate to contact me or the team if something doesn’t sound right or if you have any questions at all. I would be happy to discuss anything at all that is problematic or troublesome. It is imperative that we foster a strong parent teacher partnership to ensure that your child has a successful year. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this school year.
