Myths of sexual assault: It could never happen to me Males cannot help it -“uncontrolled lust” Women “ask for it” and are responsible if they “don’t say no, don’t fight back, lead guys on, dress in a certain way, get drunk, are out of it”, etc. Sexual assault is committed in dark alleys A sex offender is easy to spot It’s not sexual assault if those involved have had sex with each other before/ are in a relationship, etc. Men do not get sexually assaulted Document title
