Foundation Endowment Fund I have made this presentation for the newest Club Foundation Chair. But what about all those in the audience who know all this information? I have included some of my photographs as slide backgrounds to add interest. 2/25/2019 Arch Klumph’s Vision — 1917 It seems eminently proper that we should accept endowments for the purpose of doing good in the world, in charitable, educational or other avenues of community progress … — Arch Klumph, 1917 Arch Klumph is called the father of the Foundation because he had the vision of a Rotary endowment fund and the dedication to bring this dream to life. As president of the Rotary Club of Cleveland, Ohio, USA, in 1913, he advocated for the club to build a reserve that would ensure its means to do future good work. As president of Rotary in 1916-17, he proposed this idea to a larger audience.   In his speech to the 1917 convention in Atlanta, he said: “It seems eminently proper that we should accept endowments for the purpose of doing good in the world, in charitable, educational or other avenues of community progress …” Arch’s vision of an endowment would eventually become The Rotary Foundation, and his call for “doing good in the world” was to become the Foundation’s motto. But it would take some time for all of that to happen. Bill Billings, Inc

2/25/2019 We should not live for ourselves alone, but for the joy in doing good for others — Arch Klumph, 1929 Through the Foundation, Rotary members find satisfaction in serving others. The Foundation offers countless opportunities for all members, alumni, and their friends to do good in their communities and in the world — and to make a real, life-changing difference for people in need. And because of the Foundation, people around the world recognize Rotary as an agent of positive change in the world. There are many ways that you can improve lives today and build a better future though Rotary: Work with an international partner club to develop a project in one of Rotary’s six areas of focus and apply for a global grant Participate in or support your club or district’s grant projects Contribute to the Foundation to ensure it can continue to do good in the world for many years to come

This is the centennial year of the Rotary Foundation This is the centennial year of the Rotary Foundation! I would like to see every Rotarian become part of the Centennial Year by becoming a Benefactor, Bequest Society Member, or Major Donor.

Benefactor $1000 in your estate plan It is much easier to become a Benefactor than most of you realize. Bill Billings, Inc

BENEFACTOR Capital Reef National Park Utah

There is a huge misconception that it is difficult becoming a Benefactor

The Road Blocks are not real!

Simply write a short note that you want to give a thousand dollars to the Rotary Foundation when you estate is settled. Sign and date the note and put it with your will. Let Rotary know you have done that. That’s it!

Sign and date it and put it with your will

Benefactor Ribbon Let Rotary know you did that and they will make you a benefactor and give you a ribbon

Put the ribbon on your Rotary Pin

Doesn’t that look spiffy! When the time comes for you to go…

Great Rotary Meeting In The Sky The Great Rotary Meeting in the Sky.

Your executor will mail a check to The Rotary Foundation Rotary Doesn’t come looking for the Benefactor’s money!!!

$2 Million We have 2000 Rotarians in District 7600 who are NOT Benefactors! If they all signed up this Centennial Year, that would give DRFCC (District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair) Chuck a big boost Bill Billings, Inc.

Why Not? You’ll Never Miss it!! Why not become a Benefactor This is the most powerful sales pitch I have used in promoting the Endowment Fund Bill Billings, Inc

The End Let me give this program to your club I also have two other great programs to give to your clubs… Bill Billings, Inc
