Walmart is like a human cell By: Jason
Cell membrane Cell membrane- a continuous, almost invisible structure surrounding the cell. Similar to the Walmart doors- they are the outer part of the store
Cytoplasm Cytoplasm- the cells environment, which is mostly made of water, but also contains salts, dissolved gasses, nutrients, and wastes. Cytoplasm is like the air in Walmart- everything is in it
Lysosomes Lysosomes- recycle worn out products Lysosomes are like the Walmart trash cans- collects trash
Mitochondria Mitochondria- produces energy for the cell Mitochondria are like the Walmart breakers- provide energy
Ribosomes Ribosomes- make proteins for the cell Ribosomes are like the Walmart customers- provide store money
Endoplasmic Reticulum Endoplasmic Reticulum- place for cell reactions Endoplasmic Reticula are like the Walmart aisles- transportation
Golgi bodies Golgi bodies- pack and carry proteins Golgi bodies are like Walmart shopping karts-carry products
Nuclear membrane Nuclear membrane- allows certain materials to pass in and out The Nuclear membrane is like Walmart’s security- they get rid of bad people
Nucleus Nucleus- uses DNA to regulate cell activities The Nucleus is like Walmart’s boss- control what happens
Chromosomes Chromosomes- long twisted threads of DNA Chromosomes are like Walmart’s work schedule- tells workers what to do
