What is Erasmus Student Placement? Placement is a process of a higher education student in a business enterprise or organization of a programme country to have vocational training and/or obtaining work experience. (traineeship/internship)

What are the objectives of student placement? To enable students to develop specific skills including language skills and to improve understanding of the economic and social culture of the country concerned in the context of acquiring work experience; To help students to adapt to the requirements of the EU-wide labor market; To contribute to the development of a pool of well-qualified, open-minded and internationally experienced young people as future professionals. To promote cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises;

What are the benefits of Erasmus student placement ? An international internship experience abroad. A monthly grant to support living expenses during the placement Recognition of placement period with ECTS Credits (8 ECTS Credits)

What is the duration of the placement? Duration of placement is 2 months All Placements should be concluded by 30 September 2018 at the latest.

Where does placement take place? Students should work as an intern in a business enterprise or organization which is directly related to their own educational field.

Where does placement take place? (2) Enterprises training centers, research centers of universities other organizations which are in scope of the “business enterprise” definition (public or private).

Are there any restrictions for the placement organization/institution? European Union Institutions or European Union agencies Institutions running EU programmes or granted by EU programmes Diplomatic agencies

Selection Criteria CGPA (academic success): %50 English proficiency exam score: %50 «-10 Point» rule is implemented in the selection of a student for each mobility previously participated.

Selection Process Number of students for placement is set according to the annual available grants. Possibility to benefit from the programme without Erasmus grant (zero-grant students) exists.

Erasmus Grants for Erasmus Placement 2017-2018 Students are given 70 % of the total grant before the placement period, remaining 30 % is transferred following the placement period.

Erasmus+ /On-line Language Support (OLS) Students who will attend Erasmus program will be subject to an online language exam before and after the mobility. (Students whose mother tongue is one of the languages below are exempt from this rule) These exams are applied in different six languages which are German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch. There is a possibility to provide language support to students whose first exam grade is low. If the student doesnt’t complete the first language exam, it is not possible to sign a contract with the student and accordingly students are not sent abroad. This system has been developed to improve langauge proficiency of students, to incerease the quality of mobility and to measure positive effects of mobility.
