MY NEW TERRITORY TOOL

Why My New Territory? When new hires are first given a new territory everything is new to them, new customers, products, routes etc. Experienced drivers who have been transferred or reassigned to new territories are in the same situation. As they are adapting to their new environment, they are constantly distracted. They may not know where they are going and on their way to customers, they may be focusing more on which route to take and how they will perform when they arrive rather than on their own safety. This puts such drivers at high risk of accidents. My New Territory or MNT, is a tool designed to help these drivers and their managers address and lower the risks.

What is My New Territory? A tool which: on the one side gives critical tips for new territory drivers and on the other side gives critical tips for managers of new territory drivers Highlights 5 actions that new territory drivers can take to reduce their risk of collision Highlights another 7 action items that managers need to fullfil as part of their SAFE Fleet responsibilities Talks in very specific terms about what managers and drivers can do to reduce their risk of accidents and potential injury

MNT Addresses Key Fleet Safety Topics for Drivers MNT gives new territory Drivers tips on: How to reduce their risk of getting lost How to pre-plan each work day How to eliminate potential distractions How to handle traffic frustrations wisely How to remember what matters most

MNT Addresses Key Fleet Safety Topics for Managers MNT gives Managers of fleet drivers tips on: How to orient drivers to their new routes How to help their drivers plan their journey and avoid driving tired and taking risks like speeding How to pre-plan each work day How to provide home study training How to address SAFE Fleet in sales and other meetings How to stay involved in SAFE Fleet What their SAFE Fleet roles and responsibilities are as Managers of fleet drivers

How Do I Use MNT? Your Country SAFE Fleet team Chairperson can order English copies of the slide card from the regional Fleet Safety Manager via email: gtkardos@jnjhu.jnj.com Country Chairpersons should distribute these slide cards to every new or reassigned driver in your organization as soon as possible for 100% roll out in 2006 to such drivers

Customization Will MNT work for you and your country? Yes, your SAFE Fleet country Chairperson will receive a Master CD-room with artwork that allows them to customize the program to your own cultural and linguistic needs using an in house or local graphic designer. end
