Why My New Territory? When new hires are first given a new territory everything is new to them, new customers, products, routes etc. Experienced drivers who have been transferred or reassigned to new territories are in the same situation. As they are adapting to their new environment, they are constantly distracted. They may not know where they are going and on their way to customers, they may be focusing more on which route to take and how they will perform when they arrive rather than on their own safety.
