Building a Simple Level Adding Sounds Copyright © 2015 Curt Hill

Introduction Sounds are not that different than lighting Basic procedure is to: Select sounds Find the sound wanted Drag it where you want Position if needed Screen shots follow Copyright © 2015 Curt Hill

Types of Sound Two types Ambient sounds are continuous Cued Ambient sounds are continuous While you are within in a certain radius of its origin These are considered today Cued sounds require something to happen to make them occur Such as a gunshot We will consider these later Copyright © 2015 Curt Hill

Commentary Like lighting sounds default to certain properties These may or may not be right In our case the sound was too loud In came well outside the building Like light there are circles that are shown about the limits of audibility Also like lights we can change the properties Use the properties in scene tab Copyright © 2015 Curt Hill

Adjusting radius Copyright © 2015 Curt Hill

Finally Not too much to sounds They add substantial realism to your level They are similar to point lights They have a volume and radius of effect The icon is a speaker instead of a light bulb Copyright © 2015 Curt Hill
