Introducing CPME CPME represents the national medical associations across Europe. We are committed to contributing the medical profession’s point of view to EU institutions and European policy-making through pro-active cooperation on a wide range of health and healthcare related issues. CPME promotes the highest level of medical training and practice but also the provision of evidence-based, ethical and equitable healthcare services.

CPME on draft HTA Regulation HTA cooperation on EU level aims at enhancing evidence-based decisions on new drugs and methodologies Essential to involve healthcare professionals Highest level of independence and transparency Voluntary participation of Member States Methodology, timelines and evidence requirements needs to be agreed upon upfront
CPME Policy on Trans Fats Encourage the EU to limit the intake of trans fats, who increase the risk for coronary heart disease Legislative limit = protect all EU health citizens equally Doctors should be trained to contribute to improving and maintaining healthy lives CPME calls on the European Commission to set a limit on trans fats and introduce mandatory labelling of trans fats content The Commission is expected to publish their impact assessment report soon

Further policy developments (3) CPME participates in the new EU Joint Action on Vaccination, aiming to build concrete tools to improve vaccination coverage in the EU CPME lobbying on the future of health in the EU and the next EU budget CPME calls for a strong Commission for health A proper allocation of financial resources needs to be guaranteed for health policies
