Activity: Compliance and Trends WG C-2 DG Leader meeting in Vienna, 19 August 2008 Discussion of comments made so far on the different guidance documents Discussion of draft merged guidance on Chemical status assessment Threshold values Quantitative status assessment Trend and trend reversal assessment

Activity: Compliance and Trends Structure of the Guidance General Principles Status assessment Chemical status assessment (including TV establishment) Quantitative status assessment Trend and trend reversal assessment Annexes (including 8 case studies)

Activity: Compliance and Trends What happened since the last meeting in LJU: Merging of component guidance documents Inclusion of 8 case studies: TV establishment – DE, NL, RO Background concentrations – Eurogypsum Quantitative status assessment – NL Trend assessment (WG2.8, 2*NL) Circulation of V1.0 to WG C (24 Sept 2008), written approval required until 10 Oct 2008 Minor comments received and mainly considered respectively bilaterally discussed

Activity: Compliance and Trends Comments on draft V1.0 Small editorial comments by: ES, SI, NL Small amendments (mostly considered for V2.0) by: IE (GW-quantity), NL (definitions, clarifications) Euromines (definitions) Amendment of case study on TVs from RO Chapter on Reporting amended in line with relevant Reporting Sheets  Forward of V2.0 to WG C and SCG (15 Oct 2008)

Activity: Compliance and Trends Comments on draft V2.0 & next steps Further minor editorial comments by NL Finalisation of case study on background concentrations from Eurogypsum 6. 11. 2008: approval of SCG of final draft of “Compliance and Trends” Guidance in view of its endorsement by the Water Directors Thank you to all contributors of the guidance documents and to WG C for the good cooperation
