Reading an Organization

Do your homework ahead of time Observe the physical surroundings Whom did you meet with? How did they expect to be addressed? How would you characterize the style of the people you met? Does the org. have formal rules and regulations printed in a personnel policy manual? Are they detailed?

Ask Questions What’s the background of the founders What's the background of current senior managers How does the organization integrate new employees? How does your boss define his/her success? Howe would you define fairness in terms of reward allocations? Can you identify someone who seems to be on the fast track? A deviant?
