Kuda Laut-1; Singa Laut-1 Drilling Fluids Program Review – Pre-Spud PT M-I Indonesia January 9th, 2014

KL-1 and SL-1 - Tuna field exploration wells Overview KL-1 and SL-1 - Tuna field exploration wells Kuda Laut-1 – 36” and 26” riserless, SW+ Sweeps; 16” modified ULTRADRIL; 12-1/4” ULTRADRIL Singa Laut-1 – sidetrack 12-1/4” in KL-1’s 13 3/8” casing cont’d with 8-1/2”, ULTRADRIL

Logistics – contingencies especially on LCM Key Issues Possibility to encounter severe to total losses while passing through fault – SL-1 Logistics – contingencies especially on LCM Possible elevated Mud Weights expected for SL-1

KL-1 – 36” Riserless – 461’ to 745’ MDRT Drilling fluid: Sea Water / Hi-Vis Sweeps Key products: Bentonite, Soda Ash, Potassium Hydroxide Key issues: Hole cleaning, hole instability Regularly pumped high viscosity sweeps will ensure hole is getting cleaned Proposed frequency of 50-75 bbls for each 45 ft drilled The Bentonite will provide the overall viscosity and fluid loss control Density 9.0 ppg – displacement at section TD

KL-1 – 26” Riserless – 745’ to 1,500’ MDRT Drilling fluid: Sea Water / Hi-Vis Sweeps Key products: Bentonite, Soda Ash, Potassium Hydroxide, Duovis Key issues: Hole cleaning, hole instability Regularly pumped high viscosity sweeps will ensure hole is getting cleaned Proposed frequency of 50-75 bbls for each 45 ft drilled The Bentonite will provide the overall viscosity and fluid loss control Density 9.0 ppg – displacement at section TD

KL-1 – 16” – 1,500’ to 4,700’ MDRT Drilling fluid: KCl/Ultrahib Key products: KCl, Ultrahib, Duo-Vis, Polypac UL Key issues: Wash Out, Hole cleaning, Lost circulation. Density 9.5 – 10.0 ppg Ultrahib concentration 2.5-3.0% v/v and the KCl at 8-10% w/w, to achieve a good level of inhibition in the system 6 RPM: 12-16 LGS less than 5% Idcap D, Starglide, various LCM - contingency

KL-1 – 12-1/4” – 4,700’ to 9,603’ MDRT Drilling fluid: ULTRADRIL Key products: KCl, Ultrahib, Idcap D, Flo-Vis Plus, Polypac UL Key issues: Wash Out, Hole cleaning, Lost circulation. Density 10.0 – 11.0 ppg Volume carried forward from 16” – conditioned to full ULTRADRIL specs Ultrahib concentration 2.5-3.0% v/v and the KCl at 8-10% w/w, to achieve a good level of inhibition in the system Idcap D encapsulator at 2-3 ppb to prevent cuttings dispersion

KL-1 – 12-1/4” – 4,700’ to 9,603’ MDRT (cont.) Drilling fluid: ULTRADRIL Key products: KCl, Ultrahib, Idcap D, Flo-Vis Plus, Polypac UL Key issues: Wash Out, Hole cleaning, Lost circulation. 6 RPM: 10-14 Fluid loss should be maintained <5cc API by using 2.5 - 3.0 ppb Polypac UL Combination of 1.5ppb Safe Carb 20 & 1.5ppb Safe Carb 40 would be added to seal off across permeable formations Save leftover ULTRADRIL volume to be conditioned for Singa Laut-1 kickoff

SL-1 – 12-1/4” – 4,450’ to 9,385’ MDRT Drilling fluid: ULTRADRIL Key products: KCl, Ultrahib, Idcap D, Flo-Vis Plus, Polypac UL Key issues: Lost circulation through Fault, Hole instability, Bit balling, Hole cleaning Sidetrack kickoff in the 13 3/8” casing of KL-1 Wide density range 10.0 – 13.0 ppg While drilling through fault, severe to total losses expected – LCM strategy in place Combination of 2.5ppb Safe Carb 20 & 2.5ppb Safe Carb 40 would be added to seal off across permeable formations

SL-1 – 12-1/4” – 4,450’ to 9,385’ MDRT (cont.)
