ZEUS™ The Virtual Data Integrator Mount Olympus Middleware. Inc.

ZEUS VDB FACILITY VDB (Virtual Database Facility) dynamically creates new virtual relational tables from non-relational data, where any column can come from any application or data store in the mainframe enterprise. SQL ODBC interface with unlimited application to program products. Workbench recording of user interactions to develop scripts for Virtual DataBase (VDB) table creation, automation and testing. Virtual table is created through automated navigation of recorded user interactions. Virtual tables are delivered to client via ODBC and/or they are stored in DB2 for further processing (joins, etc.). VDB facility can perform high speed cross enterprise from a single host.

ZEUS DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT. Assembler and C, predominantly assembler. Assembler can call C; C can call assembler. Highly abstracted macro driven API’s for all zOS and program specific facilities. Erudite hierarchical structure such that a developer does not have to know or understand the detail of the underlying technology and the coding in API’s. Tuned down to the instruction level for performance. Zero wait state thread dispatcher with full multi-tasking support. Basic applications can be created without multi-tasking. They will behave as highly efficient standalone programs.

What Problem Does Zeus solve To compete successfully in today’s market, enterprises need to use all available data computing capabilities The disconnect between mainframe and open systems is a major problem. The issue is further complicated by expensive efforts necessary to integrate open systems data with mainframe data (made worse by the skills gap between modern open systems DevOps and mainframe development tools.) Finally Zeus simplifies application development through highly abstracted API’s, and by allowing data integration no matter where the it resides and turning non-relational data into reusable relational data.

“Mainstream the Mainframe” In a January 2016, report industry analyst Richard Ptak reports that 80% of enterprise critical data and services reside on the mainframe. The challenges resulting from the split between mainframe and open systems is a major problem, and remains the same or slightly higher entering 2018. The report describes how industry IT and vendors have tried to narrow the gap and efforts to update tools/processes solutions with improvements being made in 5 areas. Mount Olympus Middleware believes that Zeus can contribute to efforts to: 1. “Update management and control tools/solutions for consistency across all platforms 2. Automate, integrate, visualize program understanding that preserves existing asset investment, reduces maintenance and operations expenses, improves trouble-shooting.” 3. Provide high performance Linux, support services and some traditional and open systems management tools.

What Does Zeus Do ZEUS provides: (1.) A full featured, ultra-high performance, ultra efficient subsystem platform. (2.) A highly extracted development environment for building new mainframe program products. (3.)Enhanced facilities and efficiencies for current product line, data integration, and enhancing new program product acquisitions.

GENERAL COMMENTS ABOUT ZEUS Created by renowned experts in their respective fields During the initial development, this product was thoroughly tested at large customers for over 3 years with approximately $15 million invested in it. This product is designed to be: Premier development environment for advanced mainframe program product creation. A complete integrator of all of a software company’s mainframe products. A sophisticated technology that provides automated data integration from across an enterprise without clients having to know where the data is located.

THE EVOLUTION OF ZEUS SuperSession 1985-1988 Systems Network Analysis, Inc. Purchased by Candle Corporation for $12M as the infrastructure for Omegamon II, now Omegamon XE.. 3270 Multi-Session Manager. Enabled background integration of any set of concurrent sessions through SSPL (SuperSession Procedural Language).

THE EVOLUTION OF ZEUS “The Integrator” 1992-1996 Transaction Management Technologies, Inc. Partnership-Platinum Technology, Inc. Renamed “InfoSession” by Platinum. Included in CA purchase of Platinum in 1999. SQL requests a virtual table to be created through automated navigation of communication sessions across the enterprise, to extract, insert, update, delete column data to create virtual relational tables. Client does not need to know where the data is at. Non-relational data is transformed into relational data.

THE EVOLUTION OF ZEUS ZEUS 2012-2017 Mount Olympus Middleware, Inc. Zeus is being offered for exclusive sale to a mainframe software company for integrating, enhancing, and creating complex high volume data integration technologies and products. iPaaS, data integration hub, application base, development environment. Designed to: Provide platform/hub to integrate a software company’s mainframe applications. Provide automation and test facility for data-intensive activities across an enterprise. Provide highly abstracted API-based zOS development environment.
