Recovery of diastolic function was improved with University of Wisconsin solution (UWS) supplemented with 10 mmol/L 2,3-butanedione monoxime and 0.1 mmol/L calcium (BDM) for temperatures 8°C or less. The optimal storage temperature was 0° to 8°C with BDM and 4° to 8°C with unmodified University of Wisconsin solution.
