Student TIP Therapeutic Intervention Program A student is identified as having a crisis or may have a presenting issue (i.e. signs of depression, anxiety, self-harm, etc.) The student is referred to Psychologist, Guidance Counselor, or Associate Principal. The Psychologist, Guidance Counselor, or Associate Principal meets with the student and determines whether or not the symptoms are severe enough to warrant further evaluation. The Psychologist, Guidance Counselor, or Associate Principal determines that the student’s crisis or symptoms are not severe enough to warrant further evaluation. The Psychologist, Guidance Counselor, or Associate Principal determines that the symptoms are severe and warrant further evaluation. The Psychologist or Guidance Counselor provides the services to the student. The Psychologist, Guidance Counselor, or Associate Principal fills out the required referral form and obtains required signature from student’s parent(s). NOTE: Only in a crisis situation (i.e., suicidal ideation, severe self-harm) can the parent signature be waived with verbal consent of the parent; school representative must sign the parent signature line stating that the parent has been informed and agrees to student being treated by TIP staff. The End The student’s presenting issues are considered severe and require further evaluation and/or intervention. The TIP Clinician will coordinate services for the student to receive a high level of care service. The End
