ZAHIRIDDIN MUHAMMAD BABUR ( )

 Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, the greatest poet, thinker and scholar of the East, he is a military leader and statesman, conqueror of India and Afghanistan, a worthy descendant of the great great-grandfather of Amir Timur. The name Babur means “lion, commander, leopard". Babur was born on February 14, 1483 in the city of Andijan. He came from the Timurid clan and was a direct descendant of the great Tamerlane.

At the age of 12, as a result of the tragic death of his father, he becomes the new ruler of the Fergana region and enters a fierce power struggle in Maverannahr

 After 9 years of persistent struggle to unite the Timurid dynasties, Babur was defeated and forced to leave his native land. So, at the age of twenty-one, he became an exile. Later, the theme of exile and the loss of the homeland will become one of the central themes of Babur's lyrics.

Strengthened in Kabul, Babur tried in return to Central Asian possessions, but each time suffered defeats.  His dreams were destined to come true in India. Having defeated the troops of the Delhi Sultan, he bases on the territory subject to him an empire that went down in the history of world civilization under the name of the “Mughal Empire”, which existed for more than 300 years after his death.

Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur died on December 26 in 1530 in Agra. Fulfilling Babur’s last wish, his remains were later transported to Kabul. His tomb has been preserved to this day.

Babur is an extraordinary person. He is an outstanding ruler, a man of the Renaissance who loves art, literature, who knows how to enjoy the beaty of life. Jawaharlal Nehru

Until the last days of his life, Babur dreamed of returning home, warmly recalling the beautiful Fergana Valley, its fertile lands and the murmuring rivers. Separation from his native land was his great life tragedy.
