RMADC: Explore the Data Over 2 million bird records Surveys in 14 states Data since 2005 Can’t get spatial information. This is to protect private landowner information. Point count locations are “fuzzy” by 10km. If you need spatial information for analysis, need to complete a data sharing agreement.
RMADC Demonstration When you first open the Data Exploration window, there will be a few links that provide more detailed information. “Read more” briefly explains how to run a query. “Usage tips” provides definitions of the items in dropdown boxes. “Using Estimates” provides a brief interpretations of estimates and their potential uses.
Filters Filters allow us to find the data of most interest to us. We have filters corresponding to various levels in the hierarchy of the monitoring programs as well as speices and year.
Adding a Filter In most cases, it is useful to first apply a Study Design filter. This limits estimates to those provided as part of a particular monitoring program. In our case, we are interested in IMBCR (control) and GRTS (treatment).
Adding a Filter I will then add a species filter for this example.
Adding a Filter And finally the Superstratum filter corresponding to the control areas across both forests.
Run Query Then we finally run the query
