WHY AP ?? WHY DUAL CREDIT?? Confidence – develop better study habits & analytical problem-solving skills Credit – enter college with credit (and possibly advanced standing-save $$$) College Success – research shows AP success strongly correlates to college academic success

Why take either??? Get college credit Save money Learn how to study College Algebra required for most degrees Communication is required for most degrees Psychology is required for many degrees Statistics required for many degrees English 110 (composition) is required for most degrees History is required for many degrees

AP COLLEGE CREDIT The amount of college credit received can vary, so check directly with colleges and universities. (3 to 10+ credit hours) You can choose not to send scores to your college. If you get a score of 1 or 2, it will not affect your college GPA. You can choose to retake the course once you reach college. Studies show that students who take an AP course in high school have a significantly higher GPA in college than those who do not take an AP course.

DUAL COLLEGE CREDIT Dual credit refers to credit for high school course AND college credits. High school credit is ½ credit per semester, but college credit can range from 3 – 5 hours per semester course You can choose to retake the course once you reach college.
