INB pg. 23 CN topic: Physical Changes Essential Question: What happens when a physical change takes place?

Lets create our 3 Questions Q3: What can cause Physical Changes? Talk to your neighbor and come up with Q’s #1-2 you have about the physical changes of objects

Notes Section: Physical Change A change in a substance that does not change the identity of the substance.

Mixing ice tea with water Physical Change Examples: Ice melting Ripping paper in half Mixing ice tea with water Chewing your food

Summary With your neighbor, create your own example of a physical change by copying and filling in the blanks. SUMMARY: Physical changes happen when the object does NOT become something new. One example is ___________________________. This is a physical change because _________________________________. I almost broke my pencil while writing this, which would have been a physical change!

INB pg. 22 Please turn back to page 22. Title your page: PHYSICAL CHANGE EXAMPLE Go outside and find a paper sized twig. Create a physical change to this object. Then let’s tape it onto our notebook page.
