ASD CoP November, 2011 Revisiting Our Design Joanne Cashman Jill Hudson

How are we organized? National CoP State CoPs National Organizations Technical Assistance Centers Practice Groups on Issues (including one PG that specifically connects our CoPs, the PG on Military Families)

Cross-walking Agendas ‘Real’ Opportunities for Understanding Are at the Intersection of Issues Cross-walking Agendas Common goals Common strategies Common challenges Common stakeholders Shared work

Building Understanding: Content, Contact and Relationships Define the common interests Identify the potential partners Make positive contact and have some ‘early wins’! Build a relationship... Documents and events are not the mark of a relationship ...they are the activities that build working relationships and trust. They are the tools in a relationship!

Sharing an Agenda Across Groups Where are the “windows” on a shared agenda? What is the intersection of our interests? Why should others care about our success in our work? What work in underway separately? Where are the possibilities? What will we do together? What will we do in support of each other? How will we each inform and build support within our constituents?
