Program Evaluation Investigation of the merit and significance of activities of community groups Helps clarify program plans Improves communication among partners Gathers feedback needed for program effectiveness

Evaluating a specific program Decide: What will be evaluated What criteria will judge program performance What standards must be reached for the program to be considered successful What will indicate performance What conclusions are justified

Steps in program evaluation: Engage stakeholders Describe the program Focus the evaluation design Gather credible evidence Justify your conclusions Ensure use and share lessons learned

The four categories of evaluation standards: Utility Feasibility Propriety Accuracy
