Tuesday, September 25th HW: French Revolution Timeline due Friday! Aim: How did the Third Estate launch a revolution? Do Now: How would you define an unjust government? What if anything would cause you to take part in a violent revolution?

Estates General (meeting) May 1789 Assembly of representatives from all 3 estates. Called by Louis XVI in order to impose taxes on the nobility. Each estate had 1 vote.

National Assembly June 1789 French congress established by representatives of the Third Estate to enact laws and reforms in the name of the French people. First act of REVOLUTION

Tennis Court Oath June 1789 A pledge made by members of the National Assembly vowing to continue meeting until a new constitution was drawn up.
