BGSC Scholarship Awards Each year BGSC awards up to four $500 scholarships to our graduating players for their post secondary education. Thank you to our Scholarship Committee – Shannon Kaustinenand Andrew Fraser. And the winners for 2018 are: Taryn Sabot Maya Bartoszcze Madeleine Kum

2017/2018 Giving Back As part of our role supporting the community of Burnaby, Burnaby Girls Soccer Club believes strongly in giving back to the community in which we play and live. Our Remembrance Day Tournament annually donates $15 from each team entered.  In November 2017 this resulted in $1,125 donated to KidSport Burnaby from the 75 teams entered. As part of our commitment to the work done by KidSport Burnaby, we also feature their logo on the sleeve of our Divisional team jerseys. The Club also awards up to four $500 scholarships for our graduating U18 players going on to post-Secondary education.

2017/2018 Club Success Club Successes 2017/2018 36 BGSC teams in 2017/2018 Partnership with Spartan Academy from Trinity Western University for our Friday Night Academy and Spring Development Programs. Continued Whitecaps partnership to increase training options and promote soccer pathway Addition of U5 program in Fall/Winter that includes games on Sundays at Canlan Indoor Turf. Addition of Women’s Program under BGSC Umbrella U17 Blaze coached by Arainn Atkinson and Jennifer Morrison will be representing BGSC at the B Cup Provincials in July. U16 Fire captured League Championship in April.

AGM – Budget Notes “Notice to Reader” statement of Club finances for 2017 prepared by Club Treasurer, Shannon Kaustinen as per new BC Soccer policy. Increase in Revenue over budgeted 2016/2017 even with decline of almost 100 registered players was result of increase in Remembrance Day Tournament profit and increase in Spring Program revenue through addition of 6 Cascadia League teams. Gaming Grant application has been submitted with notification by August 2018. Copies of detailed financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, comparison to Previous Year and Proposed Budget) available at meeting for members.
