Honors Assessment 2014-2015

Writing Portfolio – All analytical work or writing from year This is used to create two portfolio assessments: Honors Portfolio Reflection Big Question Portfolio

Honors Portfolio Reflection Used to be the Writing Reflection. Now indicates a reflection on how the student has grown as a writer, thinker, and Honors student. In other words, how does their work reflect growth?

Examples of Reflection Changes in: Writing Technical Creativity Expression Reading Discover new authors or genres? Become more active as reader? Thinking Make connections we strive for Think critically Think independently Think creatively

Portfolio Reflection Written at end of 3rd. Graded at start of 4th. Timing Changes Portfolio Reflection Written at end of 3rd. Graded at start of 4th.

Grading Weight Honors Portfolio Reflection Turned in at end of third quarter Graded as first major grade of fourth.

Big Question Essay 50% of Final Exam.
