A new Eurostat website Eurostat is in the process of migrating its website to a new technical platform (Liferay). The aim of the migration is also to strengthen the user-orientation and make the content easier to understand. The new website is planned to be released in a couple of months' time. October 2014
The current Eurostat website – some key figures for 2013 Has on average more than 2 million visitors per month (around 24 million visitors per year), when counting the number of "user sessions". This is an increase of 21.5% compared to 2012. 5.7 million downloaded publications (increase of 15.8 % compared to 2012). 5,8 million database extractions (increase of 14.4% compared to 2012). Objectives for the new website: A more attractive design: more interactive / dynamic, more colours, more photos. Facilitate access to our statistics: better access to most popular datasets and to cross-cutting topics, improved search functions. Help users to understand our statistics: interactive data visualisations tools, like RSI. Daily content management of the website: to keep content lively and coherent. October 2014
