Email: dana.vuolo@pequannock.org April 16, 2018 Important Dates: Need to Know: On June 1st as part of NJ Day, parents will be invited in to see our NJ Wax Museum from 8:35-10:10. More details to follow. 4/26 Spring Social PARCC testing April 30th- May 5th Field Day- May 22 Class Trip Sterling Mines May 31st NJ Day June 1 Dan Gutman day June 12th (literacy night) What are we Learning? At School: Wax Museum: Students will be bringing home a paper explaining the wax museum that is due on April 30th. Students will choose who they would like to research and present at wax museum on 6/1. The google slides will be done in class. Humanities: We have started our study of New Jersey to start preparing for NJ Day. Students will be working on regions poster project in school that will count as an assessment. We are reading Unit 1 in our SS textbook. We will then move into the counties of NJ. Reading: We are wrapping up our novel Tuck Everlasting. We will be having a mock trial in class based on the book. Mae Tuck will be on trial. Students will be given parents and should be ready to present in the mock trail on Friday, April 20th. Come dressed for the trial. Students are working on novels in book club groups. Writing: We are working on our NJ Books. Please send in photos in the next few weeks to illustrate their books Or students can draw illustrations. STEM/MATH STEM: Students have been working with Mr. Flannigan on a recycling project. We will wrap up our study of energy. Math: We are working on MIF Grade 4 Chapter 9 Protractors. This test will be on Tuesday, April 17th. There is a study guide attached. We will then be discussing symmetry, lines, squares, rectangles, area and perimeter.
