A description of the programme An integrated approach to impart knowledge in Life Skills (LS) & Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to young people Integrated school curriculum (subjects) Taught to learners at all levels of the education system
Achievements Integrated in carrier subjects in revised curriculum Inclusion of assessment items in national exams, system assessment as well as SACMEQ Capacity building for teachers & heads of schools Provision of supplementary materials for Life Skills & CSE
CHALLENGES High turn-over of capacity built teachers affects quality delivery Inadequate teaching & learning materials. Cultural barriers due to generation gap. Despite the policy interventions to have pregnant girls re- admitted back into school, re- admissions are low (especially at lower levels). Source: MOGE Statistical Bulletin 2014
