Coniferous Trees Also known as “Evergreens” (Because they stay green all year!) By Me Too

No leaves, Oh No! Coniferous trees do not have leaves like a Deciduous tree. They have needles and scales instead. The needles and scales are sticky and have a scent. Don’t eat them because they are poisonous!

Yummy! Where are the seeds? In Pinecones! The pinecone is a protection for the seeds that hide deep inside them. You probably have eaten their seeds. They are called pine nuts. Yummy!

Do they have names? And many, many, more! Yes, here are a few in Utah. Pinon Pine Utah Juniper Blue spruce Fir And many, many, more!

Coniferous trees can out live me in cold weather. One last cool fact! Coniferous trees can out live me in cold weather. Brrrrr!
