These are webservers and application servers. They are actually operate between the application software and the operating system. Some examples of webservers are the Apache HTTP Server, Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), and the Sun Java System Web Server. System Software- System software consists of operating systems like Microsoft Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, and Unix. It helps the computer hardware to operate and connect with the applications software. History of Computers The computers were introduced in 1940. One of the most important computing tool was the abacus, it was used for more than 2,000 years. In 1942 a group from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania built a high-speed electronic computer to help get data to built new weapons. This happened in World War II. As time past, they made advances to the computer. They added e-mail, electronic publishing, and internet. Computers also became much bigger and more advanced.

Computers Companies 1. Apple 2. Dell 3. Intel 4. Hp 5. Acer

Computer Viruses 1. Virus – A virus destroys data and “infects” the computer. It also can spread through software and through computer networks. 2. Worm- Worms are unable to attach themselves to files, but are able to propagate themselves without first being attached to a file. 3. Trojan- Sometimes called the “Trojan Horse”.
