Methods of Facilitation Facilitation- Not dominating - Everyone matters - Everyone gets a chance - Everyone is invited to participate - Decisions are made by the group

Methods of Facilitation Job of a Facilitator - Set a helpful agenda - Get everyone to participate - Ensure the group works together - Lead the group into making a decision - Avoid anyone depending on him/her - Avoid emotional investment in any one solution - Do not favour any one person - Be sure everyone understands the purpose and agenda

Methods of Facilitation Process of Facilitation: - Set up meeting place - Circle or open rectangle - Start on time - Set agenda and focus - What improvements are needed? - Set times for discussion - Ask someone to take minutes - Question to ensure everyone participates - Ensure all ideas are heard - Record ideas on a flip chart or large screen - Review all ideas - Prepare recommendations - Ensure consensus on recommendations
