Reflective Statements Now that I’ve graded … general feedback

Prompt: Reflective Statements How was your understanding of cultural and contextual considerations of the work developed through the interactive oral? Reminders: Refer to the rubric to remind yourself of the assessment criteria. 300-400 words. Prompt: Reflective Statements

Better Reflective Statements EVIDENCE: Use more specific evidence List texts and authors Never generalize about learning something without connecting it to a specific event in the IO Use classmates’ names when you refer to them Don’t talk about your skill growth (public speaking, communication, etc.), only how your understanding of literature shifted Better Reflective Statements

Better Reflective Statements STRUCTURE: Use topic sentences to focus your paragraph on what you learned USE PARAGRAPHS! Three paragraphs seems to work well for RSs What I knew, what I learned, how it will be used/is relevant Better Reflective Statements

Better Reflective Statements Grammar Avoid passive voice The text was read The comment was made Edit for comma usage Keep your punctuation inside quotations “ …he learned so much.” Better Reflective Statements

Future Reflective Statements For your next reflective statements, I will not give you feedback. #independence You can continue editing your work after you submit it. Remember, one of your RSs will be submitted to the IB with your “written assignment.” Future Reflective Statements
