Draft list of P3 variables Private household definition proposal

Standardised variables 1/3 November 2013, DSS issued a mandate for activities to standardise variables across social micro-data collections List of 28 variables October 2016, 13 variable descriptions endorsed (P1) March 2017, 14 additional variables endorsed (P2) Variable 28 'current household income', not part of the consultation March 2017, agreement to prepare a draft P3 list  

Standardised variables 2/3 All variables present in more than one micro-data collection have been screened P3 variables selected: final step of 'standardisation of social variables' 10 new variables plus former P2 'current household income' Variables not included in P3 list: similar variables but different concept/purpose in each data collection same variables/concepts but different implementation

Private household Proposal for definition: person living alone or a group of people who live together providing themselves with the essentials of living, as either - one person household - multi-person household In case of inability to establish criteria for one-person vs. multi-person household, opinion of interviewee to be considered Concerns persons who are the 'usual residents'

The 'usual residence' concept to be further developed in line with population and demography Regulations

Eurostat invites the DSS to Endorse the standardisation process of P3 variables Endorse or comment on the proposal for 'Private household' definition
