Year 2- Homes PATTERN + SPACE HUNDERTWASSER https://theartstack.com/artist/friedensreich-hundertwasser/yellow-houses-hurts Year 2- Homes PATTERN + SPACE

Why are we studying this? This project will help us to understand - what “Pattern” is - what “Space” is We will learn how to - draw a design - use wax resist

How can we recognize HUNDERTWASSER’S houses? Describe the shapes: The shapes are… Describe the colours: The colours are… What do you like about them? Who would live in houses like these?

Create a design Things to remember… - fill the paper- so it will be a very tall house! - what does a house NEED?

Create a wax resist Things to remember… - Leave space NOT coloured with oil pastel so that the paint will soak into the paper in some areas. - Use bright + strong colours. - Go over all of your details and lines first.

Evaluation CHAT… During this project I learned about… I learned how to… I enjoyed… I am proud of…
