Martin Luther 1st person to stand up against the Catholic Church Wrote the 95 Theses which was a statement of arguments against the Church. It focused on: the sale of indulgences the corruption of the Catholic Church many other issues (see pg 347 in text) This was posted on the doors of the Church for all to see.

Declaration of Independence

Thomas Jefferson Wrote the Declaration of Independence in 1776 It was a statement about the complaints against the King of England – King George III It was “signed, sealed and delivered” to the King. This informed him that the colonies were revolting to become their own country – the United States of America.
