“Appear” and “disappear” guide an audience’s attention without distracting from the content Today we’re going to animate these shapes, so they appear one at a time, starting with the square. Then, we’re going to make them all disappear at the same time.

Select the “Animations Tab”

Select the square, then select “Appear”

You know the animation worked, because you can see the number “1” next to the square and in the Animation pane on the right.

Next, select the yellow circle, then select “Appear”

We can see the number “2” next to the circle and in the Animations pane on the right.

Then select the triangle and “Appear Then select the triangle and “Appear.” We see the number “3” next to the triangle and in the animations pane.

To make the shapes disappear, start by selecting the square To make the shapes disappear, start by selecting the square. Then go to “Exit Effects”

A menu of exit effects will appear. Select “Disappear.”

We know this worked, because a “4” appears next to the square and on the Animations pane.

Next, select the circle, then select “Disappear Next, select the circle, then select “Disappear.” Confirm this worked by checking the number next to the circle and on the Animations pane.

Select the triangle, then select “Disappear.”

To have the circle and triangle disappear with the square, select those two objects on the Animations pane on the right. You can select both by holding COMMAND.

Then, select the Timing option on the bottom of the Animations Pane and go to the “Start” Menu.

Select “With Previous” from the Start menu.

Play this in slide show mode to see the Animations.
