Morning Worship Tuesday 11th December Patience – Moses led the people Bishop Justus Church of England School

Let the light of Christ shine in our lives Gather The Lord be with you And also with you Let the light of Christ shine in our lives

Receive Moses spoke the words of the Lord … I have led you for forty years in the wilderness. The clothes on your back have not worn out, and the sandals on your feet have not worn out. From the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 29, verse 5

Engage Moses did not just lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, he led the people for another forty years as they moved from place to place, survived famine, infighting and battles until they came to the borders of the land that they would call home. In all this time Moses sought guidance from God to help him lead the people.

Engage Some discussion ideas … What winds people up so they become impatient? How has the recent UK referendum made people impatient? What skills does a leader need to develop to become a patient leader? Video suggestion … Quality of leadership is patience – TED talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiaKJIo2-L0

Respond Amen God, grant us wisdom and understanding to learn the skills of diplomacy and compromise, so that we can all become patient leaders in our daily lives. Amen

Go out into the world with the light of Christ Let us bless the Lord Thanks be to God Go out into the world with the light of Christ
