Safeguarding FOCUS FOR THE YEAR Progress Grade Previous Status Amber Current Status Green FOCUS FOR THE YEAR Performance measures 1.Increase the number of Professional development opportunities to improve skills, knowledge and behaviours in relation to child protection, safeguarding and child development GREEN 2: Best practice will be shared to support the transformation of service delivery AMBER 3: Enhance the safety and wellbeing of the workforce through improved supervision and the sharing of lone working policies GREEN 4: Enable Adult and Children’s services to share development opportunities AMBER 5: Enable the key messages around the early signs of neglect to be disseminated to the wider workforce Just started Numbers taking online safeguarding training Best practice shared via seminars and website Model Policies and procedures shared with sectors Numbers of opportunities shared Messages shared via VLE and seminars The group membership has been reviewed and is meeting regularly with a core group of members who are giving a positive input Levels 1 and 2 safeguarding developed for virtual learning environment (VLE this has resulted in savings as not paying an outside firm to host . The common core e learning at both levels 1 and 2 also developed for virtual learning environment (VLE) and includes a safeguarding unit. Links made with other action groups about supervision for new/changing roles in the workforce Neglect strategy will be analysed and this groups input to its delivery plans will be determined Progress up to Quarter Common core and safeguarding e learning latest statistics - 3247 (2244) learners have registered for group 1; 1289 (726) for group 2; 457 (366) for common core level 1; 283 (183) for new common core level 2; 1059 (953) for new Child Sexual Exploitation Supervision –models have now been drafted and will be consulted on with relevant parties eg unions 5. Delivery plans from neglect strategy - a summary on neglect and the early signs of neglect has now been developed and is out awaiting final sign off from LSCB Learning and development group Progress in Quarter
