Today We Will: Discuss your action plans and reflect on how they have contributed to a paradigm shift in your buildings.

What does “Paradigm” Mean?: Something that serves as a pattern or model The lens through which we see the world

The paradigm of how we see educating students with ASD: It is shaped by: Assumptions Ideas or concepts Beliefs and values Current practices In other words It is your perspective!

What to do with our Paradigms? Be aware of them Take responsibilities of them, examine them, test them against reality Listen to others, be open to their perspectives Get the large picture

Paradigm Shift: Changing one way of thinking to another

Have you had a paradigm shift about educating students with ASD?

Count off by five’s In your group, list paradigm shifts that have happened to you Report those out to the whole group
