“Frequent e-Assessments” Ms Lulama Siyotywa: HEDS – CDS_eLearning

Why? Active learning and understanding of subject content. Identification of problematic learning areas on time. On time remedial action strategies. Promotion of class attendance. Increases pass rates, throughput rates and graduation rates.

Outcomes Create question bank using Respondus or myTUTor Publish e-Assessments from Respondus to myTUTor View and analyse student’s participation on myTUTor Allow students to view marks and feedback immediately after submission. Identify at-risk students

BENEFITS FEATURES Tests and Surveys: Lecturer Benefits & Features An effective way to gather and distribute information via anonymous surveys. Test and Survey question statistics are generated automatically and can be viewed and exported. Save time as marks are moved to the Grade Centre automatically Can assess prior knowledge of students and identify weak areas. Create online anonymous Surveys to gather information from students. Test and Survey question statistics are available. Integrated with the Grade Centre Create Tests for the students to complete.

Test, Self-test and Survey: Challenges When are we going to survey our students? … probably going to take forever to get my grades. Marking… Marking…. I didn’t revise this topic. I’m useless at exams.

Test, Self-test and Survey: Solutions Surveys are so much easier online. Woohoo! Instant feedback! 70%...Yes! Automatic marking and great statistics. I function so much better in a group! I got 80% in my self tests, this shouldn’t be a problem. I’ll submit this online.
