Key Vocabulary to Preview Quiz Next Tuesday Proportion – An equation which states that two ratios are equal.  Percent – A fraction or ratio in which the denominator is 100 . “Out of 100” Coordinate Plane – A plane in which a horizontal number line and a vertical number line intersect at their zero points. Origin – The point of intersection of the x-axis and the y-axis on a coordinate plane. X-Axis – The horizontal line of the two perpendicular number lines in a coordinate plane. Y-Axis – The vertical line of the two perpendicular number lines in a coordinate plane. Ordered Pair – A pair of numbers used to locate a point on the coordinate plane. X-Coordinate – The first number of an ordered pair. Y-Coordinate – The second number of an ordered pair. Graph – To place a dot at a point named by an ordered pair.
