Caldecotte Xperience Residential Year Three’s Residential Trip Thursday 7th – Friday 8th June 2018 Parent’s Meeting This evening is about why we, as a school go to the effort to take the children on a residential trip and why we encourage you to allow your children to go as well as reassuring you from the very start that this trip will be highly organised, thoroughly risk-assessed and will have your children’s health and safety, as well as enjoyment, achievement and learning at its heart at all times.

I am very pleased to be organising and leading the residential trip and am very excited to be embarking on this exciting adventure with the children.

We are very fortunate to be able to take an excellent team of staff many of whom have either led and/or been on residential trips before. As group leader I am very confident, delighted and grateful to be taking the staff we are taking. The staff attending will be very easy to spot….

“Are we there yet?!” 8.30 – Arrive at school as normal Prepare to depart Depart! Let’s go! We will transport your children to and from Caldecotte Arrive at Caldecotte Xperience and let the fun begin! Unpack and sort our rooms Eat lunch – Please bring a packed lunch, that is easily disposable. We will now move on to discussing the trip itself. On Monday, the first day of the trip….

Arrival and Sleeping Arrangements Boy and girl rooms Friends will be kept together where possible and suitable Welcome and introduction Straight into our first activities Rooms must be kept tidy! Bedtime issues Rooms are separated into boy and girls rooms and all rooms will have signs on the door listing whose room is whose. Friends will be kept together where possible and suitable and organised by the Caldecotte Staff team nearer the time. Bedtime issues – any concerns about bedtimes that may be had can be detailed on the forms which will be shared later. Rest assured however that all concerns of any kind are dealt with very well and appropriately by the team – supported amongst other things by our knowledge of the children.

What will we be doing? 6 challenging and adventurous activities, including - Team dynamics - Sailing - Zorbing - High ropes - Canoeing - Bush craft Pushing the children forwards! Confidence building! Evening entertainment! Keeping in touch! A look at last year! Share preferences requested!

Food & Diet Requirements At the end of this meeting you will be given a parent pack. Please detail any food/diet requirements.

Packing for Caldecotte… See Parent Pack! What not to bring. Who packs? Who carries the bags? Please don’t bring: Electrical devices – computer games & cameras. Jewellery / valuables. Aerosol deodorants. No mobile phones – no news is good news! Please label everything.
