Lesson 2.1.2-2.1.3-2.1.4 - Combining Like Terms, Continued Objective - I will be able to identify the parts of an expression and will be able to combine like terms Quote of the Day - “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”  ― Beverly Sills

Expression: A sum of 2 or more terms Expression: A sum of 2 or more terms. An expression does not have an equal sign and can not be solved. Example – 2xy + 3x + 7 + 5y Coefficient: A number that is being multiplied by a variable. Example – In the expression 3x + 5y + 8xy + 12 3, 5 and 8 are coefficients but 12 is not (12 is a constant)
