People Board in Workday Factsheet How will People Board operate in Workday? People Boards will remain part of our approval process when we move over to Workday. However, the way managers request changes to compensation or allowances will be different. Rather than making your request on a pay change form this will now be done through Workday. We have prepared some training guides to walk you through the new process: Recruitment and hire for managers Compensation for managers These can be found on Grow or on the email that was sent to managers on 14th May 2018. However, we have outlined where to find detail on the processes below: How do I propose an increase to a team members base salary ? For internal recruitment refer to the ‘Recruitment and Hire for Managers’ guide. If the move is to a existing position, refer to section 2 ‘Creating a Job Requisition for an Existing Position’. If the move is to a brand new position, refer to section 3 ‘Creating a New Position’, please note that a new position will require the People Board to also review the need for the new positon. For other changes to compensation not linked to a permanent appointment to a new role please refer to Section 3 of the ‘Compensation for Managers’ guide, called ‘Request change of Compensation’. How do I add a Responsibility Allowance? Where the Allowance is in respect of a secondment or maternity cover a fixed term job requisition will need to created in Workday. Follow the instructions in Section 2 of the ‘Recruitment and Hire for Managers’ guide ‘Creating a Job Requisition for an Existing Position’. A Responsibility Allowance will need to be proposed as part of the offer. If the Additional Responsibility is not linked to a role change required then Section 3 of the ‘Compensation for Managers’ guide ‘Request Change of Compensation’ will show you the process you need to follow. Out of Policy Please note if at any point throughout the Recruitment process, a compensation or allowance element is out of policy, this will be highlighted to a compensation partner and will automatically follow the People Board for review. Where requests are declined, this Approval: In - Role Pay Requesting Manager completes the relevant process in Workday, having a conversation at this point with their manager to discuss the request All requests are downloaded from Workday and submitted to the People Board. (Any requests received after 12pm on Wednesday will be reviewed the following week) People Board review the proposal and provide the Reward Team with final decisions The Reward Team approve or decline the request in Workday.
