“Planning Adventures” Canadian Path Information Sharing session – Part 2 “Planning Adventures” Slide Number

Assignment Split it to patrols or 5 or 6 Playing the role of 10 year old Cubs pick an adventure Spend 10 minutes discussing and itemizing all the things you would need to plan the adventure Resources: Program Planning Guide Program Map Trail Cards

Review What items from you list can be done by the youth? How can you help the youth accomplish the other items?

Review What parts of the map does the adventure cover? Can we utilize trail cards to help plan our adventure? What about other resources? How can we incorporate beliefs and values in to our adventure?

Outdoor adventure skills Does our adventure include Outdoor adventure skills? What resources can you use to incorporate OAS into your program?

STEM Does our adventure include STEM? What are some adventures that would include STEM? What resources can you use to incorporate STEM into our program?

Assignment – Plan Do Review As a 10 year old think of 5 questions you can ask to evaluate your adventure. As a leader how can you help the youth with this evaluation? As a leader how would you extend this evaluation to the parents?

Review What did you learn about planning an Adventure? Would your current youth be able to plan this adventure? What can we do a leaders to help them with the process?

Wrap up What was the most beneficial from tonight’s meeting? What would you add or remove to make it more useful?
