Throwing Zone (3 distances: 46-60-75) Station Leads: Be organized / have a plan Bring your own Ts, equipment and balls (everyone else bring extras) Less talk, more play Simultaneous activity—minimize standing around time for players and have alternate drills planned) Stick to the timeline (as best we can) Continue to recruit volunteers Sunday, 6 May 2012 (8-Year-Old All-Stars) 1430: Coaches and volunteers meet at Field D stands for overview, final planning and field maintenance prep (includes water containers in 1st base dugout and hitting station); Paul Schobert’s the lead for field prep. 1445: Coaches set up stations; players arrive at reception station (blue star) for check in (receive number). Players move to 1st and 3rd base dugouts and drop off equipment. 1500: All players move to outfield for calisthenics and light warm-up (opportunity for League officials to talk to parents behind home plate) Welcome - League values – Expectations (Mark Sak) 1510: Calisthenics complete; break into groups by numbers and send to station leads to commence. 1515: Stations / Drills begin Throwing (3x distances) after warm-ups (Tolberg Drill) Infield (split players into two groups: 1st base and SS; after 3 throws from SS to 1st, rotate) Fly ball (split into two groups: cutoff and CF) Hitting--Field A Cages (split into three groups: 2X BP, and 1X ST) 1540: Rotate stations clockwise (1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4 and 4 to 1) 1605: Rotate stations clockwise 1630: Rotate stations clockwise 1655: Move to pitcher’s mound for kickball 1715: Closing comments (Manager and coaches) 1720: Clinic complete Station Evaluator: Joe Varner Station Lead: Chris Harrell Assistants: Joe Kirkner, Jim Mozingo 3 X Lines of players behind cones 5 throws from 46, 3 from 60, and 2 from 75 2 X Buckets (players and coach fielders) 3.
